If you are in a region whose law requires a legal basis for processing personal data (for example the European Economic Area), we process your information based on:
- Contract: to provide the services you requested or take steps before entering an agreement.
- Legitimate interests: to run and improve our business, secure our systems, and communicate with clients and prospects, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: for marketing messages and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as described here:

Client campaign data, account access, and business information are treated as confidential and used only to perform your engagement.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential functions: keeping the site secure and working.
- Analytics: understanding which pages and tools are used (for example, Google Analytics).
- Advertising and retargeting: measuring campaigns and showing relevant ads on other platforms (for example, Google Ads and the Meta pixel).
Your choices: You can control cookies through your browser settings, and block or delete them at any time. Where required by law, we ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, and manage ad personalization through your Google and Meta account settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. Where legally required, we honor recognized opt-out signals.
7. Email and Text Message (SMS) Communications
- Email: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link at the bottom of each message, or by emailing us. We will still send necessary service and account messages.
- SMS: If you sign up for text updates, you agree to receive recurring messages from us at the number you provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing any service.
- We do not share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, including to provide services, meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. After that, we delete or anonymize it. The specific retention period depends on the type of information, why it was collected, whether you continue to provide services, and any applicable legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution requirements. We periodically review the information we hold and delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed, where appropriate.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure account practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, contact us immediately at info@smartmarketingstrategies.com.
